Our Wedding

Christian and Miranda’s story began in the most unexpected of places — a parking garage elevator at the Mills Building.Christian had been working there for years when Miranda started working in the building. One ordinary day, while waiting for the elevator, their paths crossed for the very first time. Later that day, Christian confidently told his friends and family that he had just met his future wife.From small smiles and lighthearted small talk during that first elevator ride, something special sparked. What started as casual “How was your weekend?” conversations and chance run-ins around the building slowly turned into something neither of them could ignore.For six months, they shared quick chats, lingering smiles, and perfectly timed encounters — until Christian finally asked Miranda for her number. From that moment on, they’ve been inseparable.Though they’ve both since moved on from working at the Mills Building, it will always hold a special place in their hearts. It’s where their story began — where a simple elevator ride turned into forever. That’s why it felt only fitting to return to that very place to capture their engagement photos, honoring the beginning of a love story that will last a lifetime.

Travel To Guadalajara

For guests traveling to Guadalajara, we recommend flying into Guadalajara International Airport (GDL), officially known as Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla Guadalajara International Airport. This is the main airport serving Guadalajara and the best option for wedding weekend travel. We recommend booking flights early and comparing options based on your departure city, budget, and preferred airline.

Traveling From El Paso:

For our guests traveling from the El Paso area, the easiest option may be to fly from Ciudad Juárez International Airport (CJS) directly to Guadalajara International Airport (GDL). There are often direct flight options from Ciudad Juárez to Guadalajara, which may be more convenient and affordable than flying from El Paso with a connection. The two airlines with daily non-stops are Viva Aerobus and Volaris Guests may also choose to fly out of El Paso International Airport (ELP), though flights from El Paso to Guadalajara will typically require a connection. Please compare both CJS and ELP when booking your trip.

Airport Transportation & Ride Share

Guadalajara International Airport (GDL) is located outside the main city area, so guests should plan transportation from the airport to their hotel or Airbnb. Rideshare services, airport taxis, and private transportation options are available in Guadalajara. For convenience, we recommend arranging transportation ahead of time or using a rideshare service once you arrive. We will provide a list of car services closer to the date or you can search for some on Google. If you are staying in the Andares / Puerta de Hierro area, travel time from the airport may vary depending on traffic, so please plan accordingly. It is typically around 35-40 minutes. More details about wedding weekend transportation will be shared closer to the wedding date.

Where to Stay

We kindly recommend that our guests stay in the Andares / Puerta de Hierro area of Guadalajara. This is one of the safest, most convenient, and most popular areas of the city, with many restaurants, cafés, shops, hotels, and nightlife nearby. Staying in this area will also help us coordinate transportation throughout the wedding weekend, especially for guests traveling from El Paso and out of town. For reference, Plaza Andares is the main landmark we recommend staying nearby. Staying in this area will also help make transportation and wedding weekend logistics easier for everyone. Guests are welcome to stay wherever they feel most comfortable, but we strongly recommend booking near Andares for convenience.

Courtyard by Marriott Guadalajara Andares is one of the most convenient hotel options for guests who want to stay close to Plaza Andares. The hotel is located near shopping, restaurants, and nightlife, making it a great practical option for the wedding weekend.

Wyndham Garden Guadalajara Acueducto is a practical hotel option near the Andares area. This may be a good choice for guests who want to stay close to Plaza Andares but prefer a more simple and potentially budget-friendly hotel option.

Grand Fiesta Americana Guadalajara Country Club

This hotel is about 15-19 minutes away from the Zappopan/Andares area where the ice breaker and the wedding ceremony will be. Rates average around $230/night

Air BNB/Apartment Style Stays

For guests who prefer an Airbnb or apartment-style stay, we recommend searching near Plaza Andares, Puerta de Hierro, or Lobby 33. This may be a great option for families, couples, or groups who want more space and flexibility during the wedding weekend. When booking an Airbnb, please check the distance to Plaza Andares and read recent reviews carefully. We recommend choosing a stay within walking distance or a short drive from the Andares area. Suggested Airbnb search areas: Plaza Andares, Puerta de Hierro, Lobby 33, and Zapopan near Andares.

Lobby 33 / Airbnb or Apartment-Style Stays

A large, well-known hotel option in Guadalajara. While it is not directly in the Andares area, it may be a good option for guests who want a recognizable hotel brand with many rooms and convenient access to different parts of the city.

A comfortable hotel option in the Providencia area, another great part of Guadalajara with restaurants, cafés, and nightlife nearby. It is not directly in Andares, but it is still a strong option for guests who want to stay in a lively area.

For a memorable dining experience in Guadalajara, we recommend La Madalena, a well-known restaurant offering delicious food and great drinks in an upscale atmosphere.Reservations are recommended.

One of the best and easiest places to explore near the recommended hotel area. Andares has shopping, restaurants, cafés, bars, and a nice walkable atmosphere. This is a great option for guests who want something convenient near the Andares / Puerta de Hierro area.

A beautiful and highly recommended restaurant in the Lafayette area, known for its atmosphere, food, and cocktails. This is a great option for guests who want a memorable dinner while exploring one of Guadalajara’s popular dining neighborhoods.&nbsp;

Bruna

One of Guadalajara’s most recognized restaurants, offering a more elevated dining experience. This is a great option for guests who want to plan a special dinner while in the city. Reservations are recommended.&nbsp;

Alcalde 960

A charming area near Guadalajara known for artisan shops, galleries, restaurants, mariachi, and a traditional Mexican atmosphere. This is a great daytime outing for guests who want to walk around, shop, eat, and experience more of Jalisco. GetYourGuide describes Tlaquepaque as known for pottery, blown glass, galleries, car-free lanes, and mariachi at El Parián.&nbsp;

Tlaquepaque Centro

A classic Guadalajara sightseeing stop. Guests can visit the cathedral, walk around the plazas, and explore the historic center of the city. This is a good option for guests who want to see the cultural and historic side of Guadalajara. The cathedral is one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks and is surrounded by major plazas.&nbsp;

A beautiful and historic museum in Guadalajara. This is a great option for guests interested in art, architecture, and culture. The site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for its architecture and murals by José Clemente Orozco.&nbsp;

Cabañas Museum

A peaceful urban park near the Guadalajara/Zapopan area. This is a nice option for guests who want a slower morning, a walk, nature, or a break from restaurants and shopping. Visit Mexico describes Bosque Los Colomos as an important urban forest and one of the most emblematic parks in the metropolitan area.&nbsp;

A great day trip for guests who want to experience Tequila, Jalisco. The José Cuervo Express is a popular train experience that includes tequila tastings, a visit to Tequila, and a full-day itinerary.
